Five Works Found New Homes Around the World!!!

Following last year’s participation, I had the wonderful opportunity to exhibit once again at VOLTA Basel this year.

This time, I presented works from my Baby Series, along with new pieces displayed in antique frames from my own collection. I also took on a new challenge: creating and releasing my very first art figure, based on my work Where Dreams Go.

Once again, many visitors came to see my work, but what made me especially happy was seeing people I had met at VOLTA the previous year return to visit me.

Hearing some of them say, “I knew I wanted to buy one of your works this year,” meant so much to me.

And I am incredibly grateful that five of my works have now found new homes around the world.

Nirvana Chapter 2

Following last year, I once again explored my lifelong theme of Nirvana, creating Nirvana Chapter 2 as the central work of this year’s exhibition.

The word Nirvana literally refers to the “extinguishing” of the fires of worldly desire and attachment. In Buddhism, it represents a state of profound stillness and peace toward which practitioners aspire.

Throughout the past year, I spent a great deal of time contemplating how I might portray this state.

Perhaps the Buddha himself was the only person ever to truly experience Nirvana while still alive.

Again and again, I found myself troubled by the thought that trying to depict such a realm might ultimately be impossible. But eventually, I began to understand that perhaps this very pursuit is part of my way of life: to spend my lifetime contemplating Nirvana, longing to understand it, and continuing to paint it, even knowing that I may never reach it myself.

Nirvana is not a utopia.

It is not an expression of the beauty of the world, nor is it simply a vision of its cruelty.

It simply exists as it is—something beyond our human ability to control.

Everything that exists, and everything that happens, emerges only through countless relationships and conditions.

I sincerely believe that if this understanding could be shared by people throughout the world, perhaps there would be no reason for us to fight one another.

And that is precisely why I want to continue presenting my Nirvana Series around the world.
