Hōryū-ji Art Festival 2024

Hōryū-ji Welcomed Us in Its Timeless Beauty!
On November 22nd, I changed into my kimono at 4 a.m. and set off by car on a journey all the way to Nara!
Visitors came not only from Nara, but also from Aichi, Fukuoka, Wakayama, Kobe, Osaka…
I am truly, truly grateful to everyone who traveled all that way just to visit Hōryū-ji. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
The two works I exhibited were “Prince Shōtoku-chan” and “Ushusama-chan,” both closely connected to the history of Hōryū-ji.
Ideally, my works are meant to be seen in natural sunlight. However, at large-scale events, strong spotlights placed close to the artwork often distort the true colors, which is always a little disappointing.
Even so, I feel deeply honored and joyful to have been able to dedicate my work to my beloved Hōryū-ji.
After the event, the pieces were rushed back to Yamanashi and will next be on display at my solo exhibition at Gallery Dōjunkai in Omotesandō Hills, Dōjunkan.
This gallery allows natural light to stream in—just the way I hope my works will be viewed.
Please look forward to it!
