Eisui Exhibition at Zōjō-ji Temple
The Exhibition Opens This Thursday at 1:00 PM!

The Exhibition Begins This Thursday at Zojo-ji Temple in Tokyo’s Shiba Park!
My solo exhibition “Melody of the Moon in Colors” will finally begin this Thursday at the grand Zojo-ji Temple in Shiba Park, Tokyo.
Unlike galleries or museums, temples do not have white walls or spotlights. It may not be the ideal environment for viewing artwork in its true color.
However, I believe that my paintings—visual expressions of the Buddha’s teachings—find their deepest meaning precisely in a temple setting.
From the moment you step through the temple gate and into the grounds, there’s a subtle shift in atmosphere—a sense of drawing closer to the presence of the Buddha.
I believe this feeling reaches not only Japanese visitors, but also people from all over the world who visit as tourists.
Temples are, by nature, places for spiritual training and reflection.
With this in mind, I hope that the world I’ve tried to express through the Buddha’s words in each of my works may offer comfort or small insights to those carrying their own struggles and worries.
For this exhibition, we’ve made a special decision to dim the lighting in the venue and illuminate the works with the soft, gentle glow of candlelight.
It’s the first time I’ve tried this method in a venue of this size, and I admit I’m both excited and nervous, as much of this process is still experimental.
I’m pouring all my imagination and heart into preparing this experience, so I sincerely hope you’re looking forward to it.
Please Note:
During the following times, the candlelit setup will be temporarily removed due to Shabutsu (Buddha-tracing meditation) sessions being held in the venue.
Although the artworks will still be viewable, we recommend avoiding these hours if you wish to enjoy the full candlelight atmosphere.
- Saturday, September 30: 12:30 PM – 4:00 PM
- Sunday, October 1: 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM
(Tickets for the Shabutsu sessions are already sold out.)
✨ Free admission – Everyone is welcome.
I hope this exhibition offers you a peaceful opportunity to spend time reflecting quietly with yourself.
I’ll be at the venue every day and would be delighted to meet you.
Please don’t hesitate to say hello when you visit!
